The Story

Danche is an exceptional heirloom coffee sourced from the Worka Chelbesa village in Ethiopia’s Gedeo zone, an area famed for its rich biodiversity and shade-grown coffee. Smallholder farmers in this region cultivate the Wolisho and Dega varieties, which are prized for their distinct, complex flavors rooted in Ethiopia’s Yirgacheffe region.

Handpicked and meticulously sorted, the cherries are naturally processed at one of SNAP Specialty Coffee’s wet mills under the guidance of Negusse Debela. Negusse’s commitment to enhancing coffee quality is evident through his careful management of multiple processing sites, including an experimental station. This dedication results in a coffee with vibrant melon, apple, and jasmine notes, embodying the signature complexity and balance of the region.
